Each year the Pomeranian Charitable Trust with the assistance of the American Pomeranian Club invites a speaker to put on an educational seminar during the Pomeranian National. Originally with zero funds available, we relied on donated “in house” talent to initiate this function. The goal was to incorporate nationally recognized speakers that regional clubs might not be able to afford. We have been able to achieve this goal.
So far the Pomeranian Charitable Trust has spent over $4,000.00 to provide speakers such as: Dr. Mark Haverkos (Alternative Veterinary Medicine), Dr. Marty Greer (Canine Reproductive Medicine), Dr. Linda Frank (Alopecia X) pictured above, Pat Hastings (Puppy Puzzle, Evaluating Canine Structure) pictured below, and in 2009, Myra Savant Harris (Whelping and Neonatal Intensive Care).
Also using this Education Fund, the Pomeranian Charitable Trust was able to offer the purchase of a projector for power point Pomeranaian educational presentations.
During her presentation, Myra Savant-Harris capably demonstrated knowledgeable birthing procedures to help insure favorable whelping. Ms Savant-Harris also shared her knowledge of life-saving neo-natal intensive care with over sixty attendees of the seminar offered during the 2009 American Pomeranian Club National in Louisville, KY as pictured here and below.
Because the material offered in this seminar is so vital in saving puppies' lives, the Trustees, wanting to honor the continuing commitment of the Pomeranian Club of Canada in support of the PCT, were pleased to have Myra Savant Harris present it once again during the Canadian National Specialty in St John, Nova Scotia, in August 2009.
